Currumundi Youth Camp
Issue
- the Currimundi Youth Camp swimming pool was undergo a complete refurbishment including the pumps and pipes servicing the pool
- we were called into reline the sections located under the building that were unable to be excavated and replaced
- pool lines included 25 metre of 200mm cast iron pipe work located under changing room floor
- work had be completed with a very tight frame time and had to coordinated with other specialist contractors
- access was only available under stair well and a pit in the pool. Pool had to be drained and refilled within three days
- camp was still operational
- pipe work was in reasonable condition but needed relining to protect against further corrosion.
Solution
- pool was drained and pit inspected and sizing confirmed
- liner was manufactured to correct diameter and length
- pipe work was cleaned and descaled with liners being installed over two days
- pool was refilled on time
- project was completed on time and to budget with an estimated saving on pipe work replacement of $8,000.
